Friends of Gomer Junior School (FROGJS)
FROGJS is a group of parents, grandparents and teachers who meet once a term to decide on and organise fund raising ideas. Sometimes the meeting is held in the staff room, other times in the local pub!
Anyone who has a child in the junior school is welcome to come along to the meetings, voice opinions and offer their help. FROGJS believe that it is important that any money raised must directly benefit every child in the school.
The main aim is to use the funds to pay for the things that the schools own budget would otherwise be unable to cover.
Over the last few years some of the funding has been used for:
An adventure playground
New staging and lighting
Apparatus, games and storage fro outdoor PE
Bookcases for the library
Laptop computers
The funds are also spent on:
Artists, dancers, poets etc who demonstrate their skills;
Art week;
Flying Pizza Theatre Company;
Discos;
End of year get togethers
This year we are raising funds to create an outdoor classroom and nature trail. We are sure you will agree that this is an exciting project that will need lots of support
